Lesley-Ann Dickson is in the final year of her doctorate at the University of Glasgow. Her research uses empirical methods to consider the experiential aspects of film festivals from an audience viewpoint. Her PhD is an AHRC collaborative doctorate (CDA) between the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Film Festival, which she uses as case study. She also runs a seminar series at the BFI Mediatheque in Bridgeton, teaches undergraduate film studies, and is currently working with African in Motion Film Festival to explore the event's significance for the African diaspora in Glasgow. Outside academia, she runs a small eBook publishing house which specialises in literary fiction.
